Meditation is a traditional practice that helps the practitioner focus on one point. It helps you get the peace of mind, focus on your objective and give your 100 percent attention to your task. Different practitioners use a variety of techniques to learn and teach Meditation such as enchanting mantras, controlling the thoughts, visual aid like a mandala and breath. Whatever technique you follow, the ultimate goal is the same, which is your undivided attention and focus on meditation. Those, who know the power of meditation, ensure that they every day set aside time to practice the technique as in addition to the peace of mind it also has therapeutic benefits.

As gold purified in a furnace loses its impurities and achieves its own true nature, the mind gets rid of the impurities of the attributes of delusion, attachment and purity through meditation and attains Reality. Adi Shankara

Meditation Courses

Different Yoga Centers make Meditation a part of their Yoga Teacher Training courses. They include static and dynamic yoga practices in their modules. As the name states, in static meditation, the practitioner needs to be seated in a supine position while in Dynamic meditation the movement or the breath is the point of focus. Some of the major examples of meditation include reflection, mindfulness, chanting, and concentration. Whenever learning meditation, the trainer will always request you for discipline and dedication as this is the only way to get the desired state of mind when meditating.

At OmShankar, we teach different meditation techniques and students can opt for any of these based on their needs. Here is the list of major meditation techniques included in our Yoga Teacher Training courses in Dharamshala.
